An engine sitting in storage or in transit is mostly bare, machined metal. Leave it exposed and humidity, salt air, and dust go to work fast: rust forms on cylinder walls and fittings, grit lodges in openings, and an engine that should arrive ready to install can show up needing cleanup and repair instead. For aircraft, marine, and military engines, that delay carries a heavy price tag. Transhield covers seal each engine against the elements from the shop floor to its next install.

Transhield maps the engine and builds a cover to its exact contours, closing over intakes, exhausts, and accessory mounts so no surface sits open to the weather. Pattern one for a recurring engine model, and the same cover fits every unit, giving overhaul shops and OEMs a steady way to protect spares and shipments.

Why Transhield Works

Water-Resistant Fabrics

Rain, snow, and sea spray stay on the outside of the cover instead of reaching the engine, and the fabric performs the same whether the unit is stored seaside or in a cold hangar.

Anti-Condensating

A sealed engine can sweat as temperatures rise and fall. The inner layer pulls that moisture to the surface and releases it as vapor, keeping the air around the metal dry.

Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor

Engines are mostly exposed metal, which makes them a strong match for our optional VCI additive. Its vapor settles on those bare surfaces and slows corrosion by up to 95%, with no nitrites, nitrates, or hazardous materials.

Each cover holds up through years of storage and the repeated handling that comes with moving engines.

Soft Inside

The nonwoven inner face rests against machined surfaces and Class A paint without scratching, keeping your engine in top condition.

Lightweight

At roughly 0.20 to 1.25 lbs per square yard, the fabric is light enough for one or two technicians to fit around even a large engine.

Every engine has its own profile, and there is no shape or size our design team cannot pattern to. Each cover is tailored to a single model so it hugs the engine’s contours for a snug, close fit.

Protection from Degradation

One cover shields the engine from UV rays, rain, snow, sleet, dust, sand, wind, and salt-laden air that would otherwise pit and corrode exposed metal.
