Our Story

In the beginning

It all began in Elkhart, Indiana in 1994: one man with a revolutionary invention and two men with a passion to tell the world about it.

Greg Todt invented a shrinkable fabric that protected heavy equipment during transportation and storage. Originally targeting the automotive and RV industry, Transhield has grown to offer seven varieties of fabric for use in any industry. Our patented anti-corrosion technology is widely used in the fabrics we make, both shrinkable and non-shrinkable, to keep valuable assets protected from the harsh elements that cause corrosion and degradation.

Today we’re different, but still the same

We’ve been in business for over 20 years, but it’s only the beginning. We will continue to research corrosion, engineer more advanced protection solutions, and stay closely connected to our customers. Because while industries and equipment change, nature will remain a constant force, and Transhield will be there to fight back against it every step of the way.

Everyone at Transhield is proud of our commitment to our customers. We work hard to build solid partner relationships which is when we can truly solve challenges. Open communication and free flowing ideas create the best ways to design a cover. We learn what you need from the cover and design the best product to fit your needs.

Our state of the art test lab and highly-skilled engineers are constantly evaluating and testing new ways to make our material better. Because we make our own material we have the flexibility to create the material that solves your environmental battles, and then our team of design engineers pattern and assemble the most practical cover for you.

We are based in Elkhart, Indiana, and our sales team is stationed all across the U.S. This allows them to be at your door often, and if need be, within 24 hours.

Commitment to Innovation

Transhield materials are protected by U.S. and international patents. All patents were developed by and remain the exclusive property of Transhield. The fact that we own our patents, instead of leasing or having just an exclusive arrangement, allows us to provide continuous improvement and increased customer satisfaction.
